Producer
Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala is a broadcast journalist, documentary filmmaker and impact producer. She co-founded Storytellers International Inc, and is the founding president of the Filipino Documentary Society. She is a contributing producer to ARD German TV, ARD German Radio, and a freelance producer for CNN Hong Kong, and CNN International. She produced “Call Her Ganda,” nominated for a GLAAD Media Award and was broadcast on POV’s 32nd season. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also produced “Batas Militar” (Martial Law under the dictatorship of President Ferdinand Marcos). The film was a finalist at the International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam (IDFA) and at the New York Festival. She has been jury at the Emmy Awards, the News and Documentary category, since 2000.
